PPG – Industrial Trace Heating

PPG is the world’s leading supplier of Automotive Coatings, providing a full portfolio of products and services to all global automotive OEM companies. Their automotive refinish plant in Suffolk has a vast array of solvents and chemicals in storage, some of which require maintaining at specific temperatures to prevent them from waxing or solidifying in the pipelines or to reduce the load on any pumping equipment.

We are engaged to design, supply, install and commission the trace heating systems on new plant and when modifications are made to existing infrastructure.

In recent years new sprinkler systems have been installed in the PPG packaging and warehousing areas which have required a frost protection system and also temporary boilers are brought in during winter and trace heating required on the temporary pipework associated with this. Many of the areas of installation require product to be rated for use in hazardous areas and in these locations the nVent range of Raychem Industrial Heat Tracing solutions are employed in these circumstances.
