Cambridge University – Trace Heating
We conducted the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a gutter heating system at Cambridge University. The roof was to be covered in Aquatite PVC, a membrane that is bonded to a preformed steel sheet.
At the early stages of the design the client required assurances that any adhesive products used on the roof would not irrevocably compromise the integrity of the membrane, invalidating any warranty that was offered by the manufacturer. Diamond Controls submitted samples of the proposed method of installation for testing and approval by the manufacturer and the client.
A patch of membrane would be welded to the main roof membrane by the client to ensure our adhesive and stainless steel clip would bond successfully. This method was approved by all parties and the installation was successfully commissioned.
