Commercial Water Leak Detection
Automatic Water Leak Alarm Systems for Commercial Properties
Identifying the source of a water leak before it becomes a major problem is vital in commercial properties and public buildings. That’s where our Water Leak Detectors really come into their own. We use automatic leak monitoring products from proven manufacturers to offer instant alerts to even the smallest liquid leaks.
Our service includes the specification, design, and installation of Leak Detection Systems in new buildings and retrospectively into established premises.
We use specialist liquid sensing cables and probes with system alarm panels that can track single zones or multiple areas at high risk of a water leak. This includes washrooms, kitchens, boiler rooms, and data and server rooms. Leak Detection products can also be installed on pipework, floors or walls. Our leak monitoring solutions can prevent business interruption and the considerable costs associated with leaks. Take a look at some of the products we use.
Typical Water Leak Detection Applications
Our leak detection products trace:
> Water leak monitoring for Tea Points, Data Rooms and WCs
> Oil leak monitoring in plant and boiler rooms
> Air conditioning leaks
> Water, heating, and refrigerant pipework leaks
> Sprinkler system & fire suppression system leaks
Water Leak Detection Equipment
A water leak detection system includes specifically designed equipment to offer rapid and reliable sensing of even the smallest water leak. Learn more about its components.
Leak Detection Panels
A leak detection panel’s role is to continuously monitor its system. Once an issue is detected it triggers an alarm and captures important data including, in some panel designs, a leak locator map to help maintenance personnel to identify and rectify the leak. Panels can also be connected to your BMS system.
Panels such as the EcoLeak Eco1 can be used to support single zonal areas such as teapoints or washrooms. Or, for monitoring multiple detection zones, the TraceTek TTDM-128 is a popular solution for commercial buildings, often used in high risk areas such as plant or communication rooms.
Liquid Sensing Cable
Water sensing cable is also known as leak detection tape and it is designed to detect where leaks or moisture trigger an alert in your system. TraceTek TT1000 offers pinpoint water leak detection and is a popular choice in commercial buildings. It’s used to cover large areas of the floor, wrap around pipework, or can also be installed in larger drip trays.
Water Sensing Probes
Probe sensors are generally used to detect water leaks in smaller areas or for spot leak detection, for example, under plant and equipment bunded areas. They are also often installed with accompanying drip trays. The Aquilar AT-Probe is very popular for identifying leaks within these sorts of areas. The dual probe automatically detects moisture and triggers an alarm.

The Shard
The Shard – Leak Detection & Trace Heating Solutions
As one of the most prestigious and iconic buildings in London, The Shard is an architecturally striking vertical city incorporating retail, offices, hotel, apartments, restaurants and a public viewing gallery.
Its diverse range of occupants have wide-ranging needs and operate independently from one another. It’s imperative that there is minimum disruption to their everyday life which is why both Leak Detection and Trace Heating Systems were installed by Diamond Controls.
Working across many floors of the development, this multifaceted project was particularly challenging. It required using all of our years of experience and skills to ensure the quality systems we specified were installed and commissioned to give long-term benefits and peace of mind to the end users.
Trace Heating Systems were installed to maintain the temperature of pipes and access areas which would typically be exposed to low temperatures, preventing liquids from freezing and damage from frost, and ensuring the smooth running of operations.
We specified Leak Detection Systems suitable for the business needs of the premises, providing detailed drawings, operations and maintenance manuals and training to end users, many of whom have continued to use us for our Servicing and Maintenance abilities.
