The Shard – Leak Detection

Diamond Controls was initially contracted in 2015 to install an AquiTron multi zone alarm system on one of the commercial levels of the The Shard building. Following this initial project, we have completed leak detection system installations on multiple commercial and residential levels.

The commercial installations conducted at The Shard in 2016 and 2018 have mirrored the original project, installation of multi zone alarm systems monitoring typical areas such as Tea Points, Comms Rooms and WCs. In addition, we extended an existing Detek leak detection system and installed an external alarm function for the client.

The residential project completed in 2018 comprised the installation of multiple TraceTek sensor interface modules connected to the existing digital pinpoint leak detection system on 10 levels. Each module monitors a combination of TraceTek sensing cable and AquiTron water detection probes installed to monitor areas at risk of leakage such as kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms.
